hmm...
desperately tried to change my blogskin, but failed miserably.
found this really cute background i really liked.
but didnt like the layout of the whole blog, so i tried to change it.
failed miserably.
SIGH. i envy ppl with high IT skills, unlike me. :(
so back to this simple boring old blogskin for the time being!
hope i find another one i like soonnnnnnnn! :)
anyways.
the whole day today was spent playing restaurant city and flipping through the london guide book i borrowed from sengkang library.
makes me kindda worried that actually 10days may not even be enough!
although there are alot of museums and palaces,
but they all sound too good to be missed!
plus most museums are free so dunno if we should give some a miss and even if we do, i dunno which ones we shouldn't go for. D:
and i saw a place that caught my eye the most!
KING'S CROSS STATION WITH PLATFORM 9 3/4!
hahahaha. shall go there and breathe more deeply cos daniel radcliffe's been there before! <33333
LOL. see howwwww. maybe we can chiong abit and go to more places. :)
an interesting page i found in the guide book, stating about the different slangs used.
British English
American English- bill check
- flat apartment
- lift elevator
- holiday vacation
- plaster band-aid
- queue line
- toilet/loo/WC bathroom
- bonnet hood
- boot trunk
- pavement sidewalk
- petrol gas
- all right hi there
- bird woman
- bloke/chap guy
- cheers thank you
- geezer dude
- mate buddy
- sound good
- ta thank you
- wicked cool
i find the toilet and bathroom one particularly amusing cos usually when we go to high class places,
we will tend to say bathroom instead of toilet.
but now! i'm so totally going to say in a damn singaporean way 'eh where's the toilet?'
proud to be using british english instead! haha.
and i realised that,
we were really once a british colony eh?
this is totally
wicked!
